What is slip form construction technique

What is slip form:-

                        Slip forming structure

Slipform construction is a construction method for tall structures. The technique is similar in nature and applies jumping form, but the formwork is raised vertically in a continuous process.

While the formwork moves upward – concrete is continuously poured in the form of steel. After formation, strengthening and healing are executed concurrently. As the concrete slowly cures, the slipform forms a seamless concrete structure one at a time from bottom to top. In general, the work is done in a round of 24-hour shifts, but slipforming is possible only during the day.

Our traditional slipform system uses hydraulic jacks or a combination of slipforming and heavy lifting systems where a beam, tower crane or similar slipform is lifted simultaneously. Since most of our fleet is primarily based on traditional slipforming, we can deliver all the components and equipment in a very short time.

Why use slipform:-

Slipform is definitely the fastest and most economical construction method available for high-rise concrete structures. The technology provides a construction rate of 4m-8m per 24h (about 5-7 times faster than traditional methods).

Slipform is also a very safe construction method as there is no need for continuous dismantling and reassembly of the formwork by crane during the construction phase – the complete set-up is assembled at ground level only once before "take-off". Is. Is.

Heavy duty slip from set-up:-

               Heavy duty slip forming structure

The heavy duty slipform set-up from has been developed to be extra rigid as well as very efficient for repeated dismantling and reassembly tasks.

This set-up allows for larger cast-in objects, as the distance between the yokes is up to 1.5m, instead of the more common 3,5m distance. The heavy duty yoke, with 1100 mm of clearance for horizontal installation of rebar, provides a very efficient and convenient workplace for concrete and reinforcement workers.

The heavy duty slipform set-up uses our strongest slipform jack, the R72 (22-ton jack), which can be positioned almost anywhere due to a very sturdy upper deck structure that supports full slipform. Instead of placing one (or two) jacks in each yoke position, as in a traditional slipform set-up.

The slipform set-up is developed for high-rise projects as it can carry a lot of extra load with slipform. Such as winch, concrete boom, crane and lots of stored reinforcement compare with traditional slipform.

As the number of jacks is reduced with about 80% due to higher capacity, this will also reduce the time required for operation (less adjustments, maintenance, number of hydraulic components, less number of jack tubes to recover, etc. ).

This set-up is also very good for caisson projects with 1-30 Nos caissons. For projects with more than 30-40 caissons we generally recommend our gantry slipform set-up instead.

Conical slip form:-

               Conical slip forming structure

turnbuckles.produces and delivers full cone slip equipment for all parts of the world. Coniferous slipforming allows us to manufacture slender and conical reinforced concrete structures whose cross-section and wall thickness vary continuously with the height of the building.

Today, we can build structures up to 250 - 300 meters in height.

The technique expects that the vertical yoke legs are connected by a horizontal running, flexible joint pair of yoke beams in order to form the so-called yoke frame.

Example:- chimney, water tower, wind power tower, tower shaft

Ganatry slip form:-

           Ganatry slip forming structure

used standard slipform for many caisson projects in the past, but we realized that we can develop a more effective and economical solution for repeated concrete structures such as caisson production.

Gantry slipform systems can be executed in various set ups; On Shore Fixed Gantry Slipform, On Shore Mobile Gantry Slipform, Off Shore Gantry Slipform on Floating Dock, Off Shore Fixed Gantry Slipform etc.s

Some important features of this method are given as follows:

* The slipform is never dismantled and reassembled during the progress of production.

*  There are no jack tubes in the concrete and the yoke has extra high clearance, which simplifies the installation of rebar and block-outs.

*  Slipform decks are very spacious for good storage facility and best working conditions.

*  Very little crane needed for wall slipforming

*   Example of slip form:- chimney, water tower, nuclear power station etc..
